Cranky

cranky-old-man

You may see a cranky old man,

who is fragile and life is lean,

But did you ever stop to think,

what he’s done or where he’s been,

He’s seen pain and lived life,

with courage like no other,

He lived through the loss,

Of his sisters and his brother,

He did not even flinch,

When he looked death in the face,

He conquered the world,

Before settling in this place,

And if you see fear now,

when you catch his gaze,

The bravery of this man,

If known it would amaze.

You don’t know the battles,

He has fought and won before,

He may of lost a few of them,

But he’s won the greatest war.
